The lens I am using to take this shot is deceiving the height of the waterfall in the background. The falls is actually very tall, at 60 feet.

The trip I believe was pre-covid19 in mid-February to catch up with Katie who is the one in the main photo. This trip happens to be the same trip with the following other destinations:

Fun fact, Virgin Falls, which is one of the falls mentioned in Between Caves is within the same city and relatively close if you wanted to check out both waterfalls in one day. If you’d like, you can even hike from the falls mentioned in this post to Virgin falls, via Rylander Cascades Trail, though if you check out these two areas, I recommend an overnight backpacking trip. While the trail is only 7.7 miles between this falls and Virgin Falls, I think it would be worth trekking even further to Sheep Cave (watch your step here) and Big Laurel Falls.

If you look close, Katie is standing in the same position in the shot above as in the below.

You can see the actual scale of the falls in the above photo…or at least closer to reality.
